LG’s HLX56S is what you might call a ‘one-stop shop’, packing a 3D-capable Blu-ray player and 4.1-channel speaker system into a single soundbar unit. That means you get hi-def pictures and powerful cinematic sound without having to clutter up your living room with loads of boxes and speakers. It’s also the first of LG’s 2011 Blu-ray range that we’ve tested, so it’s our first chance to check out its updated internet content portal, Smart TV.

The 50PZ550 sports LG’s TruSlim Frame, meaning its glossy black bezel surrounding the plasma screen is less than an inch thin and just 2 inches deep. The set rests on a large, flat stand that keeps its glossy black texture and swivels 20 degrees to support its viewing angle. Connections include four HDMI inputs, composite and component video ports, one VGA input, an RJ-45 Ethernet input, two USB ports and more.

The Sony MDR-ZX700 are brilliantly versatile headphones. They’re just as happy out on the road as at home. A more luscious sound be found from some rivals if you just need a lounge set for late-night listening, but if you need them to take on the commute too, few sets are better at this price.

HTC Wildfire S Features
The Wildfire S looks like a lower-end, touch screen feature phone, even though it’s an Android smartphone. It measures 4.0 by 2.3 by 0.5 inches  and weighs a svelte 3.7 ounces. It’s made entirely of plastic, with the exception of the glass screen. It’s a smooth, appealing form factor that may snare many buyers based on appearance alone. The 3.2-inch, 320-by-480-pixel capacitive panel itself looks bright and colorful and quickly becomes smooth and accurate to the touch. The Wildfire S packs a G-sensor, digital compass, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor, just like all the higher end Android phones do. Typing on the on-screen QWERTY keyboard was surprisingly easy in both portrait and landscape mode; credit the oversized keys . Dialing numbers was a little sluggish, but it wasn’t unbearable.

Olympus PEN E-PL3 Features
The 12-megapixel E-PL3 is available in silver, red, black, or white, and features a metal exterior with a flat front that eschews the handgrip that you’ll often find on cameras in this class. The rear of the camera features a rubber thumb grip, making it easy to hold with security and comfort. The black body ships with a matching lens, while the other colors include a lens finished in silver. The camera weighs in at 9.3 ounces and measures 2.5 by 4.3 by 1.5 inches (HWD), only slightly smaller than the 2.8-by-4.5-by-1.6-inch E-PL2.  The included 14-42mm M. Zuiko zoom lens adds about 3.9 ounces of weight and 2 inches of depth to the camera. The lens has a locking mechanism that allows you to collapse the barrel, making it a bit easier to fit into your camera bag. At 2.7 by 4.4 by 1.3 inches and 9.4 ounces, Panasonic’s most similar Micro Four Thirds camera, the Lumix DMC-GF2, is a similar size and weight to the E-PL3.

This Sony Bravia TV comes in the company’s Monolithic design, which is essentially a glossy black bezel with edges that seemingly vanish when the set is turned off. The set rests on a stand that can both swivel and tilt the LCD, which is made with an OptiContrast panel that is said to show deeper blacks.

ASUS A53E-XN1 Laptop Features
This ASUS notebook comes with a glossy black lid that sports a checkered design, while its face is more of a mute plastic surrounding the LCD. A gray sheen surrounds its full-sized keyboard and trackpad. The A53E-XN1 measures 15.12 inches wide, 10.12 inches deep and 1.40 inches thin.
