The Turbo NAS SS-839 Pro is the new device of QNAP NAS, born as successor to the Turbo NAS Pro SS-439, can support up to 8 SATA drives 2.5 “or SSD. The SS-839 Pro is equipped with an Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz, architecture DOM (Disk on Module) and 2GB of DDR2 RAM. Its total storage capacity reaches 4 TB, but with 2 eSATA ports and 5 USB ports can be further expanded.
The SS-839 is a device with low power consumption: 8 discs housed in fact consumes about 34 W, 60% less than a solution with 8 slots for disks 3.5 “. Its two network ports support Gigabit LAN then up to 4 IP cameras for video surveillance.
The new NAS SS-839 is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux and Unix, and has many features: power on / off scheduled block of IP policy-based alerts through SMS, iSCSI target with “Thin Provisioning” to facilitate the allocation space on the server, RAID Level 0, SSL security certificates, Wake on LAN. The SS-839 NAS is already available in Italy, in several stores, and its price is 828 euros.
