If you’re an iOS user then it’s a high probability that you’ve heard about the security flaws found in iPhone recently. If you haven’t then you can read about it here.

This time it’s Android which is in the buzz these days. Specifically, it’s the creative phablet Samsung Galaxy Note II which is in the news. A Youtuber named Terence Eden recently uploaded a video on Youtube demonstrating the security flaw in the Samsung Galaxy Note II. The vulnerability shows how a user can bypass the lock screen and access the apps or calls from the home screen of Android OS. This vulnerability was demonstrated on a Note II running on Android 4.1.2 stock OS. Though, a user can only access the homescreen for a second or two but that timespan is enough to make a call or open any app on the homescreen if you’re quick enough.

Galaxy Note 2 Lock Screen Bypass Vulnerability

I wonder if it’s just Galaxy Note II which is having this vulnerability or maybe it’s the same for Galaxy lineup running Android 4.1.2 such as a Samsung Galaxy S3. Well, my colleague has a Galaxy S3 so I reckon that it’s time to test it out on an S3 as well. I’ll update this post after checking that on a Galaxy S3 soon. Till then, happy hacking

LG Thrill 4G Features
The LG Thrill 4G is a slab-style phone that looks a heck of a lot like every other black slab on the market, until you turn it over and see the two lenses for the 3D camera. At 5.0 by 2.7 by .5 inches (HWD) and 5.9 ounces it doesn’t sound very heavy on paper, but for some reason the phone felt very dense to me, especially when compared with the larger yet lighter Sprint Motorola Photon 4G ($199, 4.5 stars). The phone’s HDMI and USB ports are right next to each other on the left side, covered by swinging plastic doors. I found the Power button on the top panel a bit mushy. The Thrill also has a 3D button where the camera button should be. Over and over again, I kept clicking the button thinking it would either activate the camera or shoot a picture while in the camera app, and instead it activated the 3D mode.

The FX Plus measures 4.7 by 2.4 by .6 inches (HWD) and weighs 5.3 ounces. Made entirely of black plastic, it feels solid, though it looks somewhat generic. The 3.2-inch display is a standard 320-by-480 pixel resolution. The glass capacitive touch screen is bright and suitably responsive. There are four physical function keys below the screen which are backlit and easy to press.

LG Envoy U.S. Cellular Features
The Envoy measures 3.8 by 1.9 by 0.7 inches (HWD) and weighs a rather light 3.4 ounces, given its largish size when flipped open. The 1-inch external display sports 96-by-64-pixel resolution, but it’s only grayscale; at least it’s moderately informative about phone and call status. Inside, the 2.2-inch, 176-by-220-pixel LCD is a typical low-end part, and fine in this application. The oversized keypad is a gem. Between the large keys, big five-way control pad, and well-separated function keys, using this phone one-handed is a cinch.
